ELKO was established 28. February 1998.  The company operates two home appliance and electrical good superstores in the Reykjavik area and is Iceland´s market leader.
In april 2007 ELKO store was opened in Keflavik Airport, Duty Free Store.
One store in the departure area abt. 250 qm and another “store in store”  abt. 80 qm in the arrival section of the Duty Free Store.

Since May 25. 2007 ELKO has the online shop www.elko.is.  The online shop is the largest of its kind in Iceland with over 6000 products available for purchase.

The latest addition is the new ELKO store in Lindir Shopping Center in Kopavogur, Reykjavik area.
This store is the largest electric appliance store in Iceland, about 3000 qm.  The new ELKO store is very bright and elegant with great selection of all the best brands of household equipments in the world today.
